Nurul Izzah calls for stronger PKR cooperation to ensure Sabah’s political stability

TAWAU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar has stressed the importance of strong cooperation between PKR and its coalition partners in Sabah to maintain political stability.

She said the party’s ongoing tour was aimed at mobilising the election machinery at the grassroots level while reinforcing strategic alliances ahead of the upcoming Sabah state polls.

“Through engagements with business communities and local leaders, the people are able to raise their concerns directly and better understand the compassionate policies introduced under the Unity Government,” she said during a dinner with Tawau’s Chinese business community on Sunday (Sept 14) night.

Among those present were PKR vice-president and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Sabah PKR deputy chairman Datuk Peto Galim, Pahang state executive councillor Sim Chon Siang, Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin and PKR’s prospective candidate for the Merotai state seat, Datuk Ruji Ubi.

Nurul Izzah, who is the daughter of Prime Minister and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the “Empowering Sabah” development mission.

“This includes the continuation of Sabah’s Special Allocation introduced in 2024. This is the spirit behind the slogan ‘Sabah Progresses with Madani, Semporna Prospers with Madani’, reflecting the government’s commitment to building a more prosperous state,” she added.

Event sponsor representative Ben Lo Teck Yong said her visit allowed the local Chinese business community to better grasp the government’s policies.
